A 22-year veteran Peel police officer was arrested Tuesday following a nine-month long investigation into a sexual assault complaint.
Const. Daniel McAllister has been charged with one count each of sexual assault and breach of trust.
Peel police launched an investigation in March after it received a complaint from the director of the Office of Independent Police Review alleging a sexual assault by an officer.
McAllister can expect a Police Services Act investigation once the criminal court proceedings have been completed, Peel Region police said in a statement Wednesday.
