The Calgary Police Services are investigating the death of a man while in custody of Nunavut RCMP.

According Emma Poole, a spokesperson for Calgary Police Services, a 22-year-old Kugluktuk resident died while in custody on Sept. 19. The victim was medevaced from Kugluktuk to Stanton Territorial Hospital in Yellowknife, where he died.

The incident that led to the medevac remains unclear.
