Le premier ministre Stephen Harper sera à Montréal ce vendredi pour un discours à $1000 la table au Chambre de commerce du Montréal Métropolitain, organisé en collaboration avec Bombardier, CAE, CN, Pratt & Whitney et RioTintoAlcan. Cette manifestation est lancée en opposition aux politiques de Stephen Harper et du gouvernement Conservateur. Il y a de nombreuses politiques à dénoncer, en voici quelques-unes:
- les attaques du gouvernement Harper envers l'auto-détermination et la souveraineté des peuples autochtones, et la perpétuation des politiques coloniales;
- les politiques d'austérité du gouvernement Harper, qui coupe les dépenses sociales pour le bénéfice de la classe riche et dominante;
- les coupures au régime d'assurance chômage;
- le soutien du gouvernement Harper envers des infrastructures destructives pour l'environnement, des projets d'extraction de ressources, que ce soit les gazoducs ou les gaz de schiste;
- Les politiques du gouvernement Harper en matière d'immigration, qui rendent très difficile l'accès à un statut légal et sape les soins de santé pour les réfugiéEs;
- les dépenses militaires grandissantes du gouvernement Harper;
- le soutien du gouvernement Harper à l'invasion et à l'occupation de l'Afghanistan;
- l'appui du gouvernement Harper au développement d'un système pénitencier calqué sur le modèle d'un complexe industriel, incluant des peines criminelles plus sévères;
- le support aveugle du gouvernement Harper envers l'apartheid israélien;
- la complicité du gouvernement Harper en lien avec l'utilisation de la torture;

Cet appel est lancé en opposition aux Conservateurs de Harper, dans une perspective anti-coloniale, anti-capitaliste et anti-oppression.

Nous encourageons les actions autonomes contre le discours de Harper ce vendredi.

Cette invitation est également en support et en solidarité avec la manif contre l'austérité du Conseil régional de l'ASSÉ à Montréal ce vendredi à 14h au métro Mont-Royal. Nous proposons donc de nous joindre à cet événement par la suite. (info: http://www.austerite.org/fr/)

Prime Minister Stephen Harper will be in Montreal this Friday for a $1000 per table speech at Montreal's Board of Trade, organized in collaboration with Bombardier, CAE, CN, Pratt & Whitney and RioTintoAlcan. Info: http://www.btmm.qc.ca/en/networking/midiextra_stephenharper_1115/

This demonstration is called in opposition to the policies of Stephen Harper and the Conservative government. The policies to oppose are numerous; to state a few, we oppose:
- the Harper government's attacks on Indigenous self-determination and sovereignty and continued support of colonial policies;
- the Harper government's policies of austerity, which cut back on social spending for the benefit of the rich ruling class;
- the Harper government's cutbacks to unemployment insurance;
- the Harper government's support of ecologically destructive infrastructure and resource extraction projects, from pipelines to the tar sands;
- the Harper government's immigrant and refugee policies, which makes it more difficult to migrate with full status and undermines refugee health care;
- the Harper government's increased military spending;
- the Harper government's support for the invasion and occupation of Afghanistan;
- the Harper government's encouragement of the prison-industrial complex in Canada, including more punitive criminal sentencing;
- the Harper government's unabashed support of Israeli apartheid;
- the Harper government's complicity in the use of torture;

This demonstration is called on the basis of opposition to the Harper Conservatives rooted in an anti-colonial, anti-capitalist and anti-oppression framework.

We encourage autonomous actions against the Harper speech this Friday.

This callout is also made in support and solidarity with the anti-austerity demonstration called by the Conseil régionale de ASSÉ à Montréal (CRAM). After our demo ends, we will march (or take the metro) to métro Mt-Royal to join the anti-austerity demo at 2pm (info: http://www.austerite.org/fr/).
