Repentigny cops surround man at gunpoint as 8-year-old son watches

As three Repentigny policemen circled him with their guns pointed at him and ordered him to lie on the ground, Hèzu Kpowbié wondered if his life was about to end.

Worse still, his eight-year-old son was nearby watching the terrifying incident, which started at about 4 p.m. on Sept. 15 in Repentigny’s Parc du Moulin.

On Sunday, the Centre for Research-Action on Race Relations (CRARR) held a press conference to denounce the officers’ behaviour, which Kpowbié captured in a cellphone video, as a clear case of racial profiling.
