14-year-old girl injured during Winnipeg police arrest, IIU investigating

Manitoba’s civilian police watchdog is investigating after a 14-year-old girl’s collarbone was fractured during arrest.

Winnipeg police told the Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba (IIU) about the incident on Sept. 2.

Just after midnight on the same day, officers responded to reports of a stolen vehicle. Officer located the vehicle and “an individual fled”.
