Ontario's police watchdog says there are no grounds to charge a Hamilton police officer in the shooting death of a 30-year-old woman nearly a year ago.
The woman, identified by family and friends as Robyn Garlow, was pronounced dead at the Hamilton General Hospital around 2 a.m. on Oct. 20, 2018, after being shot twice at a downtown King Street East apartment.
Hamilton police had been called to the apartment, near Wellington Street, around 1 a.m. and found the 30-year-old armed with a knife and "not of sound mind," said Special Investigations Unit interim director Joseph Martino.
